Outgoing Queue
Overview
The outgoing queue is where all outbound emails are sent for delivery to an outgoing capable SMTP server. Typically the ISP of the connection that the emailAI Pro engine is using to access the Internet.
Note it is extremely important this is set up correctly for correct operation of emailAI Pro.
Options
Clear Successfully Sent Items After x Days
After items have been sent they are kept in the Queue up to the days specified here and then deleted.
Clear Failed Items After x Days
When the emailAI Pro engine tries to send an email it will first see if it needs to do a Connection Test, then it will attempt to send the email via the outgoing mail server. If the attempt was to send a validation request and it fails the email is set to failed status and the necessary actions taken. If the email fails to send but is a validated, forwarded or relayed email it will change it's status to retry and attempt to send again in 5 minutes up to 4 times. Failed emails will be cleared from the queue after the number of days specified in this option.
Maximum Simultaneous SMTP Connections
The emailAI Pro engine has the capability of sending multiple emails at a time which saves typical bottlenecks created by traditional send a single email at a time situation. Broadband users can set this higher, while modem users should keep this around 3.
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
This would typically be the ISP's mail server of the connection that the emailAI Pro engine is currently using to access the internet.
Port
The port of the outgoing mail server. Typically this would be port 25 unless otherwise specified by the Mail Server administrator.
Authentication Type
Some outgoing mail servers (SMTP) require authentication if it does select from the list of available authentication types.
Username
If the mail server requires authentication the associated username should go here.
Password
If the mail server requires authentication the associated password should go here.
Send Outbound Emails Directly To Recipients Mail Server
If the Internet account that emailAI Pro Engine is running on does not have a port 25 block emailAI Pro can use direct email sending which provides better spam control and immediate delivery. Enable this option if port 25 is not blocked. When enabling this option also set the DNS for MX Lookup.
DNS for MX Lookup
When direct send emails is enabled emailAI Pro may require to look up a DNS server for the MX record of the email account. Set this to the DNS server of the Internet account the emailAI Pro Engine is running on or an internal DNS server IP.
