Configuraiton General
Overview
General configuration is a collection of options that affect how the emailAI Pro engine will handle certain situations.
Options
Send Delivery Receipts
After a email is successfully validated a delivery receipt will be sent back to the sender of the email indicating their email has been delivered. Different delivery receipts can be specified depending on who the email was addressed to. See Delivery Receipts for more information. If this option is disabled then the ability to manually enable individual White List is still available.
Enable connection testing
When enabled this option ensures that the emailAI Pro engine has a valid Internet connection before it attempts to validate the sender.
Connection testing server
The server specified here is the server used for connection testing. Typically this would be the address of a local ISP. This option is only available if Enabled connection testing is enabled.
Enabled Sound Play back on server
When enabled email Ring Tones will play back through the emailAI Engine even if the outlook plugin or the emailAI console is not running.
If no matching Local Domain disregard email (Prevent Delivery)
When enabled the emailAI Pro engine will check that the email was addressed to a domain that is contained in the Local Domain List. The email will be disregarded if it can not find a local domain match.
If no matching User Account disregard email (Prevent Delivery)
When enabled the emailAI Pro engine will check that the email was addressed to an address that is contained in "Local Accounts". If you use this option it overrides the if no matching local domain option.
If no matching User Account send to spam
When enabled the emailAI Pro engine will send emails to spam that are addressed to people that are not in the "Local Accounts" list. When retrieving emails are retrieved by POP or by SMTP emailAI Pro will check that the email was addressed to an address in local accounts. If an account does not exist and this option is enabled the email is sent to spam. When retrieving email by direct SMTP and the if no matching user account disregard email is enabled it overrides this option and the email will not be received.
Automatically Accept Emails from other emailAI users
When enabled emailAI will automatically send challenge responses when it receives a challenge request from another emailAI or emailAI Pro user.
Keep copy of raw email
If enabled the emailAI Pro engine will store copies of all emails received in a folder called "eml" under the emailAI Pro engine installation folder. The emailAI Pro engine will not automatically purge this folder it is left up to the user to delete files. Typically this option would only be used during initial setup / testing.
Auto Zip Attachments I Send
When enabled attachments in emails are zipped before they are sent by emailAI Pro.
Disable Automatic Update Checking Checking of emailAI Pro
When enabled emailAI Pro will not look for a more recent version while running or on startup. This option is not recommended to be enabled.
Maximum simultaneous incoming POP connections
This setting allows control over how many accounts the emailAI Pro engine will retrieve mail from at the same time. This option can be increased on higher speed connections or lowered on slower speed connections. The suggested connection amount is 3 for dial up based accounts up to 10 for broadband based accounts, however you may go higher. This option is one of the ways the emailAI Pro engine accelerates email due to not having to wait for a large email to be received from account A before downloading mail on account B.
Use DNSBL (DNS Block List)
When enabled emailAI Pro will check the DNSBL block list servers to see if the senders IP is on them. If the senders IP is on the block list the email will be refused delivery. If retrieving by POP and POP delete on black list is enabled the email will be directly deleted on the POP server before downloading if this option is enabled. The white list over rides this check.
DNSBL Server
The server emailAI Pro will use for DNSBL lookups. A drop down list is provided for well known DNSBL servers but any server can be entered.
Additional DNSBL Servers to check (separate by space)
Enter additional servers in here separated by a space if more than one DNSBL list should be looked up before accepting an email. It is quite common to check two or three DNSBL block lists as they provide different levels of spam protection.
Use SURBL (URI Block List)
When enabled emailAI Pro will scan the incoming email and check it for URL's that are on the SURBL block list chosen. If a url is found in the email being received the email is refused delivery when receiving by SMTP or send to SPAM if retrieving by POP. The white list over rides this check.
SURBL Server
The server emailAI Pro will use to check for black list URL's. A drop down list is provided but any server can be entered.
Use AI Spam Filtering
When enabled emailAI Pro will use the AI filter on incoming emails to see whether they are likely to be spam or not. The white list over rides this check.
AI Filter Threshold
The threshold at which emailAI will send an email to spam .
Administrators password
Sets the administrators password to access the configuration options and various other functions normal users can not access. The administrator user can also be used to login via the Outlook plugin.
