Mailing Lists
Overview
Mailing Lists are a great way to manage clients, friends or groups of email addresses that you email on a consistent basis. These lists can either be manually managed or you can allow users to self subscribe to the lists. Self subscription has a validation option to prevent users from subscribing other users without there authority. The mailing list system automatically handles no longer active email accounts and suspends that particular email account on the mailing list until it is corrected. It's easy to use and you can send a mail list entry from anywhere, simply by sending an email to the emailAI Pro engine via any available email address with the subject of #list <mail list> <list password> <emailSubject>. The email you send is then sent out to all members of that particular list addressed personally to each recipient.
How To Use
Sending out via the list
Send an email to any email address that the emailAI Pro engine handles with the subject of
#list <Mailing List Name> <List Password> <email Subject>
eg:
#list myList myPassword This is a test mailout
Subscribing to the list
Send an email to any email address that the emailAI Pro engine handles with the subject of
Subscribe <Mailing List Name>
eg:
Subscribe myMailingList
The subscribers email from address will then be added to the list or an authentication email will be sent back to the senders from address.
Unsubscribing from the list
Send an email to any email adderss that the emailAI Pro engine handles with the subject of
Unsubscribe <Mailing List Name>
eg:
Unsubscribe myMailingList
The subscribers email from address will then be removed from the mailing list.
Options
Select Existing
Selects an existing mailing list
General
Name
The name you wish to call the list. Do not use spaces in the name as there will interfere with you sending to that particular list.
Password
Specify a password. The password is used when sending to the list.
Allow user self subscription
When enabled users can self subscribe to the list by sending an email to any of the email addresses that emailAI Pro handles with the subject "subscribe <listname>" eg: subscribe myList.
Subscribers are required to authenticate on subscribing
When enabled users must reply back to an email they receive after subscribing to a list to ensure they actually wanted to subscribe.
Admin Name
The administrators name that handles this list. Note: this is required when you allow self subscribing as it is used in emails to the subscriber.
Admin Email Address
The administrators email address that handles this list. Note: this is required when you allow self subscribing as it is used in emails to the subscriber. The Admin Email Address should be the address you use (ie change your from address in your mail client) when you send out the email to your maillist members. The admin email address should be unique to this list to enable proper bounce management.
Statistics
Displays information about the list.
