emailAI Pro Engine

Overview

emailAI Pro Engine runs as a system service on a Windows 2000/2003, XP, Vista 32/64 normal or server versions.

The emailAI Pro Engine handles all the processing for the features of emailAI Pro. The Engine doesn't have a user interface of any sort. The emailAI Pro Console is used to communicate with emailAI Pro and control the features and settings of the emailAI Pro Engine.

Database

emailAI Pro Engine is designed to work with Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server Express (which is the free version of SQL Server from Microsoft).

emailAI Pro Lite will support up to a 1 gigabyte database size while emailAI Pro does not have any restrictions other than that determined by the version of SQL Server it is installed on or the limitations of the computer.

Firewall Considerations

emailAI Pro Engine uses the following ports by default. All ports are configurable if a different configuration is required.

  • POP Server Port 110
  • SMTP Server Port 25
  • Web Server Port 80
  • IMAP Server Port 143
  • Advanced Delivery Port 2550
  • Communication Server Port 8890
  • SQL Communications Via TCP Port 1433 if SQL installed on a remote machine

Recommendations

SOHO users up to 3 users

Install emailAI Pro (Lite) Engine on a desktop PC that may or may not be used for general computer operation. Use with Microsoft SQL Express.

Small Companies 4 to 10 users

Install emailAI Pro Engine on a standard desktop PC. Use with Microsoft SQL Express.

Medium Size Companies 11 to 100 users

Install emailAI Pro Engine on a server which can be the same server running Microsoft Exchange, Domain Controller, Small Business server etc. Use with Microsoft SQL Express or Microsoft SQL Server.

Large Size Companies 100 users or more

Install emailAI Pro Engine on a dedicated server. Use with Microsoft SQL Server.
